Virgil Abloh graduated with a degree in civil engineering from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 2002 and then studied architecture at the Illinois Institute of Technology.
After two years working in an architectural firm, Abloh focused on fashion. In 2009, he founded the RSVP Gallery, an art gallery and menswear store in Chicago. That same year, he joined creative agency Donde Kanye West as creative director, where he oversaw projects such as live performances and merchandising concerts.
